The ADCC Asia and Oceania Trials 2024 took place on May 11th, 2024 and 8 incredibly talented competitors won the final invites available for each division at ADCC 2024 in the event’s results. It was a great day of high-level grappling, featuring the very best that two continents have to offer and several notable moments. There were a few surprises along the way as well, with perhaps the biggest one coming in the men’s under 66kg division where Chinese brown belt Huaiqing Xu beating 6 opponents to earn his invite. Sula-Mae Lowenthal also shocked the crowd when she submitted 3 out of 4 opponents to win the women’s under 65kg division.
The other women’s divisions had predictable champions though, with Adele Fornarino and Nikki Lloyd-Griffiths winning at under 55kg and over 65kg respectively. Levi Jones-Leary was a pretty expected winner at under 77kg, but he put on a brilliant performance regardless and won 6 straight matches in the process. The other three men who won invites were a little less expected but still on the radar as potential contenders, particularly the under 99kg champion Daniel Schuardt. The final winners were Mansur Makhmakhanov at over 99kg and Lucas Kanard at under 88kg, with Kanard in particular putting on an almost-flawless display of elite grappling.
