The ADCC Chicago Open 2023 took place on September 9th, 2023 and as with most ADCC Open events, there were several top competitors featured in the results. Dan Manasoiu continued his run of dominance under the ruleset by winning both the over 100kg and the absolute division, adding another two gold medals to his collection. His teammate Helena Crevar achieved the same feat in the women’s divisions, winning both the under 70kg and the absolute division. They weren’t the only gold medalists who were representing New Wave Jiu-Jitsu though, as Trinity Pun also emerged victorious in the under 60kg division.
One of the top prospects in the sport, Dorian Olivarez, continued his run of great form by winning the under 65kg division and Gavin Corbe put in a great performance to emerge victorious at under 70kg. Elijah Dorsey won the under 76kg division and John Combs took home the gold medal at under 83kg, but one of the toughest divisions of the day was at under 91kg. Ryan Aitken stood on top of the podium in that division, but he had to beat Jacob Couch in the final and the bronze medal went to Sean Yadimarco.
