The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour – London 2025 took place on April 13th, 2025 and several elite gi grapplers delivered great results in the UK. Fellipe Andrew moved up to the super-heavyweight division and left with a gold medal there, while veteran competitor Jackson Sousa won his old weight class at light-heavyweight despite some seriously tough opposition. Uanderson Ferreira and Lucas Protasio stood on top of their respective podiums at middleweight and welterweight, while the lightweight champion was Sebastian Serpa. Rounding out the men’s champions were two of the best competitors coming out of the UAE recently, Khaled Alshehhi at featherweight and Omar Alsuwaidi at light-featherweight.

Although most of the divisions were won by the early favorites, there were some talented young competitors winning in the women’s divisions. Swiss black belt Laurie Rocha won gold at light-featherweight, while 20 year-old Giovanna Carneiro won the middleweight division by submitting everyone. In between those two weight classes, top contender Julia Alves returned to form by winning the biggest women’s bracket at lightweight. The smallest women’s bracket was at roosterweight, where Diana Teixeira beat the same opponent twice to win gold. The finale female champion came in the heavyweight division, and Yara Soares put on an excellent performance to win gold there.
