The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour – Istanbul 2024 took place June 9th, 2024 and there was great results across every division at the event. There was a few predictable winners of course; perhaps the most notable being Uanderson Ferreira, who put on an incredible performance on his way to a gold medal at middleweight. The slightly lighter weight classes were just as predictable, with the lightweight and welterweight divisions were won by Thiago Macedo and Lucas Protasio respectively. Jefferson Fagundes did provide a minor upset by winning the light-featherweight division, while his teammate Kalel Santos managed to do the same at roosterweight.

The two heaviest men’s divisions had really challenging brackets but in the end it was Marcos Carrozzino and Matheus Felipe who won gold at light-heavyweight and super-heavyweight. The only predictable winners in the women’s divisions were at opposite ends of the spectrum, as Yara Soares won a two-woman heavyweight division and Diana Teixeira won at roosterweight. Asma Alhosani and Rafaela Bertolot beat veteran opponents to win the light-featherweight and lightweight titles respectively, while Raquel Santos managed to stand on top of the podium at middleweight. All in all, the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour – Istanbul 2024 produced plenty of memorable moments and exciting matches.
