The AIGA Champions League Final 2025 had just suffered a huge blow, as 10th Planet have had to withdraw from the event after more than half of their team suffered injuries. 10th Planet are one of the largest affiliations in the world and they were originally going to be bringing a fantastic team of big-name competitors, so they will be sorely missed. Looking on the bright side, the tournament still has several stacked teams featuring multiple IBJJF and ADCC world champions. Even without 10th Planet competing, there’s still plenty of star power ready to produce some highlight-reel finishes and crazy matches as they battle it out for the million-dollar prize.

The full lineup wasn’t yet complete yet either, and the time is running out for the promotion to announce the remaining teams. The grand finale takes place on June 28th and 29th, 2025, so there’s just a month left and there was already one team yet to be confirmed. The majority of teams had to earn their place in the event by winning one of their qualifying rounds or being the reigning champions, but AIGA reserved the right to invite two teams of their choosing too. Acai Republic took the first of those two invited with an excellent team headed up by Mica Galvao.

Now AIGA will have to find yet another team to replace 10th Planet for the Champions League Final 2025, but they do have some options available. 10th Planet earned their spot by winning one of the group stages in their USA Qualifier in 2024, and there were two other teams who just missed out on making the cut at that event. Just behind 10th Planet in their group was Fight Sports, while Checkmat were the runner-up in the other group. There will obviously be more opportunities to see 10th Planet in action as a team in the future too, including as part of the lineup for the second Craig Jones Invitational later this year.

The full AIGA Champions League Final 2025 live event, no longer including the 10th Planet team, will be available to watch on June 28th and 29th, 2025 on FloGrappling, click here to subscribe and watch.
