WWE star Baron Corbin just competed at the IBJJF Pan Championship 2025 and he managed to register a flawless performance in two different brackets. Baron Corbin is of course his professional wrestling persona and his real name is Tom Pestock, but he is also known as Bishop Dyer on the independent circuit. Pestock is experienced in a number of different sports and although his latest achievement in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is very impressive, it isn’t the first time that he’s competed at a high level. Pestock is also a former professional football player and was even a two-time Golden Gloves amateur champion in Boxing.
Pestock is best known for his professional wrestling career though, as he spent over a decade working for the WWE. After a few years on NXT, Pestock became a frequent fixture on WWE broadcasts and even became the promotion’s United States champion at one point. He left them just a few months ago and took up his new persona on the independent circuit, making his first appearance there opposite the fellow grappling veteran Josh Barnett. He competed in Jiu-Jitsu several times during his time with the WWE and was promoted to purple belt by Rolles Gracie Jr, but his latest appearance is his most impressive to date.
As Tom Pestock instead of Baron Corbin, he entered as a purple belt in the Master 3 divisions at the IBJJF Pan Championship 2025. He represented R1NG BJJ and received a bye through the first round at ultra-heavyweight, before winning two hard-fought matches in order to win gold. He then took part in a slightly bigger bracket in the absolute division, where he beat 3 opponents to stand on top of the podium for the second time that day. With a perfect 5-0 record, Pestock left as the master 3 purple belt double champion and added yet another big achievement to his impressive athletic career.
