Way back in 2018, the UFC was gearing up for the release of EA Sports UFC 3 and the promotion managed to put Michael Bisping and YouTube star KSI in the training room together as part of their promotional efforts. Although the footage of the pair grappling together is almost five years old now, it only recently came to light thanks to ESPN. This all came about as a result of the boxing match between KSI and BJJ black belt Dillon Danis that is booked for January. This isn’t the only time that Michael Bisping has been pulled into the beef between Danis and KSI though, as Danis recently asked him on Twitter:
“Hey Bisping, who you got winning. Me or your hometown guy KSI?”
Bisping replied quickly and fans of the former UFC world champion will no doubt recognise his patented sarcasm. It’s one of the elements of Bisping’s personality that made him so popular during his time as a professional MMA fighter, and his response is practically dripping with it:
“Tough call. I mean, you’re known for having devastating boxing skills, right. I fear KSI may have messed up here.”
That’s what encouraged KSI to get involved with the conversation and refer back to when him and Michael Bisping were training together. According to him, Bisping was nothing but complementary about his skills in striking back then and that was before he had around five years to work at the skills needed to succeed in boxing:
“LMAO, you have felt my power on the pads, and back then I was terrible. Dillon is sleeping whether I train or not. Here we have Bisping singing my praises when I was terrible. Imagine what I’d do to Dillon now?”
The footage of Michael Bisping grappling with YouTube star KSI was uploaded to the official YouTube Channel of ESPN MMA:
