The UFC has just announced the lineup for it’s second FightPass invitational event after the success of it’s first, and the four teams competing this time around are stacked with plenty of elite grapplers in their ranks. The first UFC FightPass Invitational took place back in December 2021 and the organization found huge success with the event, which no doubt led to them deciding to put together a second edition of the tournament between teams. As is the case with the first event, the second one will also feature a number of superfights in between the opening rounds and the final of the team tournament.
Top UFC competitors Brandon Royval and Andre Fili will be facing off against Shane Shapiro and Jerry Shapiro while one of the most popular female competitors in the promotion’s history, Roxanne Modafferi, will also be competing against Michele Oliveira. As many of the athletes competing are those with a lengthy MMA career ahead of them, the UFC FightPass Invitational does not allow heelhooks in the competition and this will no doubt change the tactics of many of the men and women competing on the night.
The teams will represent four regional MMA promotions in America, and each one features top-tier grappling talent competing alongside elite MMA fighters. Each of the regional MMA promotions have been hand-selected by UFC brass as each one is owned by a UFC legend, and the four teams of four are as follows:
Jorge Masvidal’s iKon MMA
Bo Nickal
Craig Jones
Enrico Cocco
Pj Barch
Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat
Urijah Faber
Eliot Kelly
Ryan Loder
Song Yadong
Anthony Pettis’ Fighting Championship (APAC)
Christos Papadelos
Daniel Manasoiu
Giancarlo Bodini
Oliver Taza
James Krause’s Fighting Alliance Championship (FAC)
James Krause
Andy Varela
Joe Solecki
Kyle Boehm
The full second UFC FightPass Invitational event including the main event tournament between the above four teams will be available to watch live on UFC FightPass on July 3rd, click here to subscribe and watch.
