UFC BJJ 1 took place on June 25th, 2025 and there were several exciting results throughout the card, finishing off with the grand finale of UFC BJJ 1: Road To The Title Season 1. The promotion was going to crown three inaugural champions in the final three matches of the night, but there were some top competitors taking to the mats before that. Keven Carrasco and Bella Mir kicked off the night with submission wins over Ty Costlow and Carol Joia respectively, before the two biggest men on the card took to the mats. Pedro Machado and Filipe Pimentel engaged in a tough battle at first, but Machado was able to lock up a triangle choke from mount for the finish in the second round.
That was followed by the first decision of the night, as Cassia Moura was able to win every round against the legendary Talita Alencar even though she couldn’t find the finish. The next match featured the only castmember of Road to the Title who wasn’t fighting for a title, as Keith Krikorian took on Joao Assonitis. Krikorian showed perfect technique to control Assonitis from the back, fighting to get hooks in for a while before ultimately sinking in the choke without them anyway. That led straight into the title-fights and the first to be crowned was the UFC BJJ lightweight world champion.
Danilo Moreira and Carlos Henrique both had their moments of success throughout the match but with just two minutes left of the final round, Henrique caught Moreira in an armbar for the finish. Andrew Tackett was up next and he made fairly short work of Andy Varela, submitting him with an arm-in rear-naked choke in less than three minutes. The main event was the bantamweight title-fight between the show’s coaches, Mikey Musumeci and Rerisson Gabriel. Musumeci was relentless in attacking Gabriel’s legs and although there were several very close attacks throughout, he eventually found the finish with a heel hook in round three.
