Tye Ruotolo just moved to 2-0 in his professional MMA career with yet another impressive win over Shozo Isojima at ONE 173 on November 16th, 2025. Although it’s still very early on, his transition to MMA has looked incredible so far; as he’s beaten some legitimate prospects. Ruotolo hasn’t been taking easy fights or even appropriate ones for his experience level, he’s been facing the next generation of superstars in both of his fights so far. He choked out Adrian Lee in the first round of his debut at ONE Fight Night 35; and Lee was already 3-0 and coming from an elite fighting family.
Shozo Isojima was even further along in his trajectory, coming into this fight with Ruotolo with a perfect 6-0 record that including a finish in his ONE Championship debut earlier this year. Ruotolo made even shorter work of him than Lee though, finishing the fight in the very first round. He was landing punishing ground and pound from mount that forced Isojima to turn away and as soon as he did, Ruotolo’s arm snaked around his neck to lock up a rear-naked choke. This wasn’t the only exciting moment for grappling fans at ONE 173 either, as Rafael Lovato Jr beat Giancarlo Bodoni by decision in a grappling match shortly beforehand.
