There will be two title-fights headlining UFC BJJ 7 on April 2nd, 2026 and both of them feature reigning champions defending their belts. Both of them have held their belts for a little while now, at least compared to many of their peers in the promotion. They are both the only champions that their division has ever known and one of them in particular, Carlos Henrique, actually won his title at the very first event. He’s also the only one out of the two that has already successfully defended his title too, and he currently holds a 4-0 promotional record including the inaugural season of Road to the Title.
Henrique submitted both of his opponents during the qualifying rounds and then also submitted Danilo Moreira in the final at UFC BJJ 1. That made him the inaugural lightweight world champion and alongside his fellow Road to the Title winner Andrew Tackett and Mikey Musumeci, he is also the longest-reigning champion they have. Henrique then returned a couple of months later to defend his title at UFC BJJ 3, facing Matheus Gabriel in the co-main event and earning his first decision win. Now Henrique has the opportunity to rack up another title-defense, and Lucas Valente is going to be the man to challenge him in his promotional debut.
The other title-fight is in the women’s featherweight division, where Aurelie Le Vern rules as the first and currently only female UFC BJJ champion. She made her promotional debut back at UFC BJJ 2; where she made a big statement with a highlight-reel finish. She returned in their final event of the year to face Raquel Canuto for the inaugural featherweight title and it was another impressive submission win for Le Vern at UFC BJJ 4. Now she will face her first challenger, as Brianna Ste-Marie will also be fighting for a title in her very first UFC BJJ match just like Valente.
UFC BJJ announced both of the title-fights featuring reigning champions for UFC BJJ 7 in a series of recent posts to their official Instagram account:
