The AIGA Champions League Turkey Qualifier 2024 took place on March 3rd and 4th, 2024 and Team Euro Trash delivered some incredible results to secure their place in the final tournament next year. This was the first of four qualifying rounds that are going to take place across the year and if this event was anything to go by then this should be a fantastic year for AIGA. It was pretty clear that it was going to be action-packed from the start, as all 8 teams had put together fantastic lineups that included several elite competitors. Although there was plenty of talented grapplers representing every team, Team Euro Trash were the early favorites thanks to the presence of several ADCC Trials winners.

Although they were the favorites coming into it, not many people would have predicted just how dominant Team Euro Trash would be on their way to the final. They registered a clean sweep of 7 straight victories in the first round against Knights Martial Arts and the semi-final wasn’t much different, as they beat Team France 6-1. While they won almost all of their matches by submission, Dagestan Combat Club had a slightly different path to the final. Almost all of their matches were won on points or by decision and it was a grueling series of tough battles over both days, as they beat Team Italy 5-2 in the opening round and Presion & Diamantes 6-1 in the semi-final.

Team Euro Trash finished off their fantastic run of results at the AIGA Champions League Turkey Qualifier 2024 with another series of wins, beating Dagestan Combat Club 6-1 with 3 submissions. Their captain Jed Hue led the team well by winning all 3 of his matches, as did Ashley Williams and Marcin Maciulewicz too. It was Mateusz Szczecinski and Eoghan O’Flanagan who stood out the most though, as they submitted all 3 of their opponents. The final two team-members both put in great performances too, as Shay Montague only competed twice but won both matches by submission while Sam McNally went 1-2 with a pair of incredibly close decision losses.
