Tayane Porfirio has just become the latest elite Jiu-Jitsu competitor to join the lineup for BJJ Summer Week 2025. It’s shaping up to be an incredible week packed full of the very best instruction in the world and it all takes place from September 21st to 27th, 2025 in the beautiful location of Cagliari on the Italian island of Sardinia. It’s the ideal location for a long break and training under some of the biggest legends in the history of the sport amplifies an already-amazing experience. This will be the 10th edition of BJJ Summer Week and they are really going all out to celebrate a decade of successful training camps.

They started out by announcing both Michelle Nicolini and Demian Maia as instructors and although that set the bar very high, they’ve continued to surprise fans with the huge roster of elite talent that will be attending. Attendees will also get the opportunity to learn from Vitor ‘Shaolin’ Ribeiro, Nadine Tavares, Helena Crevar, Darragh O’Connaill, Gabriela Fechter, Flavio Santiago, Adam Wardzinski, Charles Negromonte, James Weed, and UIJJ founder Dario Bacci as well. With that many elite grapplers in one room for a week there’s going to be a ton of knowledge being shared, and Porfirio is a welcome addition to the roster.

Porfirio was a dominant force in the women’s super-heavyweight division at one point in time, and she became the double champion at the IBJJF World Championship in 2017. She has beaten many of the greatest female competitors in the history of the sport and is one of a handful of women to ever beat Gabrieli Pessanha. Porfirio still competes at the highest level of the sport today in fact, and she’s actually currently preparing to challenge Pessanha for the women’s absolute title at BJJ Stars 15. Depending on the outcome of that match, she may very well be coming in to BJJ Summer Week 2025 at the top of the Jits Magazine BJJ rankings.
