Read moreOliver Taza is a top BJJ competitor who was born in Lebanon and moved to Canada as a teenager. Taza found Jiu-Jitsu when he started training at Tristar Gym in Montreal under Firas Zahabi. Although he initially preferred boxing and began competing as an amateur, it wasn’t long before he returned to Zahabi’s grappling classes. While still a coloured belt, Oliver Taza would regularly travel to train under John Danaher at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York. He succeeded in competition early on and quickly started defeating grapplers with significantly more experience. He eventually moved to train under Danaher full-time and was promoted to BJJ black belt by him on November 9th, 2020.
