Submission Hunter Pro 91 took place on June 23rd, 2024 and there were plenty of fun matches throughout the card. The promotion has been alternating between tournaments and events focused on superfights for their main cards recently, and this time they reverted back to a series of single matches. As always there was a series of colored belt matches leading up to the main card and after a good build-up, Jacob Schwan opened the show in exciting fashion. He countered his opponent’s shot by locking up a reverse triangle choke and put him to sleep after just a little over 30 seconds of action.
There were a pair of slick leglock finishes too, as Jasmine Espinoza hit a lovely transition from omoplata to toehold and Nathan Inman submitted his opponent with a kneebar in less than a minute. All of these matches and many more led into the co-main event of the evening, where Antonio Cicconi set up a brutal canto choke from side control to get the finish. Then Rafael Lang put on an absolute clinic in the main event by scoring with the takedown, passing guard, taking the back, and transitioning to mount all before he locked up a cross collar choke to finish the match.
