Submission Hunter Pro 89 took place on March 3rd, 2024 and the promotion put together a series of fun matchups that produced several exciting finishes for the fans in attendance. The night started out with several kids matches first of all before moving on to the teen matches to finish off the preliminary card. There was plenty to see on the preliminary card as it was a great look at the future of the sport, all while building up some anticipation before the main card kicked off. The competitors on the main card wasted no time in entertaining the crowd either, as there was action-packed matches right from the start.
Some of the highlights include a pair of toeholds from Dennis Hernandez and Linda Gutierrez, along with both Justin Renick and Michael Carpenter finishing their matches with rear-naked chokes. There was plenty of tough battles that went to decision too, but the biggest moment of the night probably came early on the main card when Aaron Gomez locked up a reverse triangle choke to submit Fernando Hernandez Jr. All of this was leading up to the main event, where Ray Rodriguez managed to win a decision in an entertaining match with Eddie Torres.
