Raul Rosas Jr has been a phenomenal grappler for quite some time, even though the young MMA fighter was just 18 years old when he made his promotional debut at UFC 282. He’s been an exciting talent for years now, and he was even submitting adult black belt competitors back when he was just 16 years old. MMA was always the goal for Rosas Jr though, as he was already getting to work on his amateur career at the time including winning the IMMAF Youth Amateur world championships in the 136lbs division. Since then, Rosas Jr had gone from strength to strength and managed to build up a perfect 5-0 professional MMA record with five straight finishes.

Rosas Jr has continued competing in professional grappling as well, being part of the Emerald City Invitational 2. Rosas Jr didn’t just turn up though, he also managed to defeat Luis Quinones and survived a whole round against the elite competitor Gianni Grippo before he lost in EBI overtime. Then in September, he appeared on the Contender Series and won a very convincing decision that earned him a UFC contract. Raul Rosas Jr made his promotional debut at UFC 282 this past weekend and headlined the preliminary card, submitting Jay Perrin in the very first round and breaking a record as the youngest winner in the promotion’s history.
