Famous rapper Action Bronson has taken up BJJ as part of an overall effort to lead a healthier lifestyle and lose weight. This isn’t unusual of course, as many people take up the martial art in order to help shift some unwanted pounds and improve their cardiovascular fitness. As most practitioners will tell you, there’s no cardio on the planet that taxes your body the same way grappling does. This isn’t the first time that Action Bronson has been training BJJ however, as he’s previously spent time with former UFC Welterweight world champion Matt Serra as well. It does seem as though he’s ramping up his efforts this time around though.
The first time he was seen training BJJ recently was alongside fellow rapper and Jiu-Jitsu blue belt Evidence, in a post to the official Instagram account of Ryron Gracie. Not only did he share the post himself, but he also replied to Ryron Gracie’s post with the following comment:
“So much love and we will meet again. Thank you.”
Shortly after this, Action Bronson also uploaded a photo to his own official Instagram account after a hard training session with ADCC world champion Orlando Sanchez, World’s strongest man Martin Licis, and a man who has been spend increasing amounts of time around the BJJ and MMA community, the CEO of Strength Cartel, ‘Big Boy’. He’s also received offers from another ADCC World Champion JT Torres, to come and train with him when he passes through Westchester, New York.
