Polaris 35 took place on January 31st, 2026 and the main attraction was one of the biggest cross-promotional battles in the history of the sport, as the Polaris Squads champions took on a team from Who’s Number One. There was plenty of action before that in a fun preliminary card, and a pair of superfights during the half-time break. The first one saw Adele Fornarino hitting a slick rear-naked choke for the win against Selma Vik, making a great case for a title-shot in her next outing. The second superfight was a middleweight title-fight where Levi Jones-Leary cleanly won all three rounds against Davis Asare through both elite guardplay and flawless top control.
In the Squads battle things played out pretty much as predicted, and Polaris came away with a fairly narrow win thanks to a few key moments. Lucas Kanard was the first to put them a in the lead when he secured back-to-back decision wins over both Deandre Corbe and Gavin Corbe, before getting shut out by Luccas Lira. Polaris’ other big hitter managed to extend their lead with the first submission in the very next match though, as Eoghan O’Flanagan leglocked Lira. Devhonte Johnson levelled the score at 5-5 and brought WNO back in the game by winning decisions over O’Flanagan and Santeri Lilius, but the team’s success was short-lived.
Owen Jones scored a huge submission win over Johnson and managed to maintain Polaris’ lead into the half-time break; as they went back to the locker rooms at 8-5. Declan Moody started off the second-half well for WNO with decision wins over Jones and Pearman, but O’Flanagan worked his magic and submitted Moody with a heelhook. The two teams traded wins from then in, but Johnson closed the gap a little with the final submission of the night when he caught Meyram Maquine with a rear-naked choke. In the end the score was 14-12 to Polaris despite some difficult moments throughout the night.
Johnson and Moody ended up being the most valuable players on the WNO team; with both of them going 3-2 with both a submission win and a submission loss. That wasn’t enough though, as Chris Wojcik was the only other member of the team to finish with a winning record. Kanard held the same 3-2 record for Polaris but the real difference was made by their submission-threats, as O’Flanagan’s pair of submission wins made him the joint-highest scorer of the night and Jones’ 3-point win over Johnson had a huge impact. It’ll be interesting to see where Polaris takes the Squads format next, and who this team faces if they return again.
