Polaris 32 took place on June 28th, 2025 and it featured the first ever female Polaris Squads match, with North America taking on Europe. The teams were made up of six of the best women in the sport from their respective continents and under the format, they were going to keep coming out for continual matches until the 80-minute time- limit was reached. The lineup originally featured Helena Crevar and Ffion Davies as opposing team captains but unfortunately, there were some last-minute changes that put an end to the idea of that dream matchup. Davies was replaced by Nia Blackman and a few of the North American competitors had to be switched out too, but both lineups remained very strong.
Ane Svendson really shone in the first half by winning an incredible 3 matches in a row by decision, but it wasn’t enough to bring Europe the lead. Taylor Hishaw kicked things off with two wins for North America and Brianna Ste-Marie stopped Svendson’s run before adding another win to her record, with North America winning 5-4 leading into half-time. The half-time superfight was interesting battle between Eoghan O’Flanagan and Mohammed Avtarhanov, where Avtarhanov was able to hit multiple clean passes to start the match. He didn’t make it out of the first round though, as O’Flanagan kept reguarding and locked up a lightning-quick Z-lock for the finish with just a few seconds left on the clock.
When the squads battle started again, Alanis Santiago got the first submission win of the night to improve North America’s lead. That’s as far as they came though, because Margot Ciccarelli went on an incredible run that saw her win 5 matches in a row by decision. She was only submitted by the North American captain Helena Crevar, who won another two decision to put her team back in the lead again. With just over 90 seconds left on the clock and a 2-point deficit, Sula-Mae Lowenthal stepped up and three everything she had at Crevar. She shocked both the crowd and Crevar by leaping into mount immediately, switching between several different submission threats to keep Crevar on the defensive. Lowenthal won the decision thanks to her relentless attacks, but it wasn’t enough to stop North America from winning the event.
