Polaris 26 took place on November 4th, 2023 and the promotion delivered a night full of exciting results after a ton of elite grappling action. There were several big matches booked for the event, including the main event between Craig Jones and UFC veteran Gerald Meerschaert. Although these two men were probably the biggest names competing on the card, the co-main event was even more interesting from a competitive standpoint. Kendall Reusing was returning after over a year-long layoff due to injury to defend her openweight title against Leticia Cardozo.

Meerschaert wasn’t the only popular MMA fighter on the card though, as Molly McCann was making her Polaris debut against Julia Scardone. This actually turned out to be one of the most entertaining matches of the entire event, especially when McCann locked up a beautiful armbar to finish Scardone. The most unique finish of the night happened a little earlier on the preliminary card though, as Dominic Dillon locked up his patented reverse bulldog choke to submit Claudio Brudny. The majority of the main card was made up of decisions, but they were still highly entertaining and technical matches from some of the best competitors in Europe.

In fact, the only other finish of the main card actually came in the main event, when Craig Jones managed to submit Gerald Meerschaert with a rear-naked choke. The co-main event was equally thrilling even though it didn’t end in a submission, as Kendall Reusing put on a fantastic performance to deny Leticia Cardozo the chance to dethrone her. She remains the promotion’s openweight champion and has sent a strong sign that she’s back at the height of her powers. There’s no news on who or where her next match will be, but it’ll be interesting to see if Reusing is able to continue this form into ADCC 2024.
