Pit Fighting Championship 1 took place on June 21st, 2025 and the promotion put together an excellent card featuring several exciting matchups. The preliminary card featured some great up-and-coming talent and Seth Martin in particular stood out for his solid performance and d’arce choke finish. There was a huge upset on the main card too, as 47 year-old Clay Davidson locked up an incredibly tight arm-in guillotine to submit Aaron Tiegs. Considering Tiegs is 20 years younger and has wins over some really high-level grapplers in recent years, it was an incredible result for Davidson and it’s surely a moment that he won’t forget any time soon.
The only women’s match of the main card was up next, and it was one that wouldn’t look out of place on the biggest shows in the sport. Paige Ivette and Maria Ruffatto both left it all on the mat, but in the end Ivette was able to outscore Ruffatto to take the win on points. Legendary BJJ filmmaker Stuart Cooper continued his great run of competition results lately with an arm-triangle choke finish, and the main event saw Pat Downey taking on UFC veteran Deron Winn. The wrestling exchanges were highly-entertaining and Downey maintained the upper hand, scoring two points to take the win.
