The Ocean BJJ Pro Championship 2025 grand finale took place on September 20th, 2025 and four new champions were crowned in the results. Their inaugural show last year saw 3 competitors win 4 titles, and all of them returned to defend them this year. Nobody was able to do so, showing just how fierce the competition was. Although the special guests that the promotion invited were always going to be the favorites, there was plenty of surprises along the way in each division. That’s because the majority of competitors had to earn their ticket to compete here by winning one of 5 Trials over the past year, and they were all eager to add some big wins to their records.
Pawel Jaworski had an incredible run through the under 80kg division, starting with decision wins over Natan Sap and the reigning champion Tarik Hopstock. He then won his semi-final by scoring a single point against probably the biggest name in the entire bracket, Kenta Iwamoto. On the opposite side of the bracket, Jed Hue rattled off three solid wins on points against Kieran Kichuk, Francesco Bartolotta, and Sebastian Patyk to book his place in the final. Both men are known for being great leglockers but Jaworski won that battle, locking up a tight Z-lock to get the finish and leave with the title.
The over 80kg division was just as entertaining too, in large part down to Christian Frillici. He submitted all three of his opponents to make it to the final; heel hooking Manuel Pilato, Mantas Daublys, and Corbin Laporte all in impressive fashion. It was Poland’s night to shine though, as Marcin Maciulewicz made his way through a series of tough matches to meet Frillici. He submitted Natan Sap with an ankle-lock before beating both the reigning champion Luccas Lira and Alexander Sak by decision, and then took Frillici’s back in the final to submit him with a rear-naked choke.
The women’s divisions were smaller but had equally impressive performances, with Sarah Galvao having the longest run to the title. She beat Roksana Wodzynska by decision and submitted Emma Rosini with a brutal triangle armbar, before beating the reigning champion Gamila Kanew by decision in the final at under 65kg. The over 65kg division had fewer matches and it was Eleftheria Christodolou who won the title there. She beat Julia Mikolajczak in her first match and had a very tough opponent in Jessika Torttila for the final, but she put her to sleep with a D’arce choke. The belt was wrapped around Christodolou’s waist, and she announced her retirement from competition immediately afterward.
