Nicky Rodriguez has just been booked to face Victor Hugo at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 10 on March 6th, 2025. This is actually the fourth time that these two men have faced one another and this rematch will serve as the co-main event of the evening. Hugo has a perfect record against Rodriguez so far, as all three of those matches have gone to a decision in his favor. The first two were back in 2020 and 2021 and a lot has changed since then for both men, but their last meeting was much more recent. That was in the main event of Who’s Number One 22 just a little over a year ago, and that was also the last time that Rodriguez lost.
Even though that doesn’t seem like too long ago, Rodriguez has gone on an absolute tear since then and won 7 matches in a row with 5 submissions. Most of those matches and submission wins came during his flawless run through the over 80kg division at the inaugural Craig Jones Invitational. Hugo actually competed in that same tournament and as the top two seeds in the bracket, he would have met Rodriguez in the final if not for the fact that he was submitted by Lucas Kanard in a shock upset in the opening round. That was the last time Hugo stepped on the mats too, so while Rodriguez is out for revenge he will be eager to bounce back from that loss.
The only match with higher billing than this one is possibly the biggest women’s match in Jiu-Jitsu right now, the rematch between Ffion Davies and Adele Fornarino. The rest of the card is still being announced though, and there’s several spots available for even more top competitors. The only other matches that have been announced are a trio of superb battles between some of the top female competitors in the sport, so if past events are anything to go by then there’s probably another five or so matches left. Interestingly; this isn’t the only time that fans will see Rodriguez in action soon though, as he will also face Kaynan Duarte at Who’s Number One 27 just a few weeks later.
UFC Fight Pass announced that Nicky Rodriguez vs Victor Hugo would be the co-main event for UFC Fight Pass Invitational 10 in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
