Nicky Rodriguez recently took a voluntary PEDs test and the results are now in, apparently showing that he was completely natural at the time of the test. More than that, there also appears to be nothing to indicate any historic use of PEDs either, despite what a number of fans or other competitors might have accused him of. That’s exactly why the whole scenario arose in fact, because his most recent opponent Gordon Ryan actually accused him of both greasing and using steroids during their match. The test was arranged and evaluated by Derek from More Plates More Dates, and he had this to say about the results:
“I do think that he is natural now, I also think that he is probably natural within a reasonable timeframe previously. It looks like by the date he competed against Gordon (Ryan) in December, which was about… two months prior to getting this blood test.”
It’s worth noting of course that it’s not really possible to test if someone has ever taken PEDs at any point in the past. Although Derek is clear that Nicky Rodriguez has shown himself to be natural during this test, he also explains this fact as well:
“So what is the probability he would’ve not been on gear when he’s competing against Gordon (Ryan) but then at ADCC he was on gear? Like, I would say low for sure. With that said, does eight weeks give you enough time to clear stuff out of your system to have a clean blood test? Absolutely, for sure it does.”
He also expands on this though, and explains some of the logical conclusions that you could draw from the results of this test as well:
“But my understanding is that like, why would you have been cleaning out? Would you have assumed that somebody was just going to randomly be like “Hey, go to a lab tomorrow and get your f***ing blood drawn!” I imagine that was not going through his head so I can only assume, you know a logical conclusion, that he probably, and again I see no relics of androgen use in his blood whatsoever. I imagine he was probably natural during his competition with Gordon (Ryan) in December.”
