It looks like Nate Diaz is now heading for a rematch with Jake Paul after stepping in on short notice to save the main event of his next show on Netflix. It’s been over two years since they last shared the ring with each other but the rematch has only been in the works for a couple of days. Paul won their first fight in 2023 by decision but both men moved on pretty quickly, and they’ve each continued their combat sports careers without pursuing a second. In fact, the only reason this rematch has been booked is because Paul’s latest fight fell apart in the final days before it took place.
Paul was originally scheduled to face Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis on November 14th, 2025 but the fight was scrapped completely after Davis was mentioned in a civil lawsuit that accused him of violent behaviour, battery, and kidnapping. The show was immediately put in jeopardy as it had no main event, although the other fights still remained intact. It was unclear which way that Netflix would move at this point; whether they would be able to find a suitable opponent on two weeks’ notice or be forced to postpone the whole event. Now it seems like Diaz has answered the call, although it’s yet to be confirmed whether he will be making the original date of November 14th.
There’s bound to be some interest in the rematch between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz, and not just because the two men are popular figures. Diaz gave Paul one of his toughest fights to date and has since won a decision over Jorge Masvidal in his second boxing match. Paul has been even more active though, winning five matches with three finishes in the same space of time. Most recently he was seen beating boxing stars like Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and the legendary Mike Tyson. Even without the competitive aspect of it, Diaz is one of the best in the world at promoting fights with trash talk.
