Finishers: Heatwave is scheduled for June 14th, 2025 and the promotion has started revealing a great card that includes three title-fights so far. Two of those matchups will see the promotion’s champions putting their belt on the line against tough opponents, while the third is an interim title-fight between worthy contenders. There will be several other superfights taking place on the card as well of course, and they were all be contested under the new ruleset that Finishers use. Ever since the success of the inaugural Craig Jones Invitational last year, the promotion has been using five-minute rounds and a 10 point must-system for judging.
The interim title is being created in the light-heavyweight division because Sergio Vilas is unable to defend the title right now, and the winner here will book their place as his next challenger. The promotion’s former champion Kyle Myers is on a mission to reclaim his belt and this interim title-shot brings him within touching distance of his goal, but he can’t afford to look past 10th Planet black belt Justin Michael. The flyweight title is on the line next, as Eric Naples looks to continue his flawless run as champion when he faces the exciting Renzo Gracie Costa Rica competitor Ignacio Massis.
The final title up for grabs is at heavyweight, where the reigning champion right now is popular young competitor Pat Shahgholi. Although Shahgholi is known for his vicious leglocks, he does have other weapons in his arsenal and has enjoyed s great run as the Finishers champion. He’s defending his belt against another familiar face for fans of the promotion, veteran grappler Edmir Sokoli. Not only is Sokoli also a solid leglocker, but he’s also a physically-imposing competitor who is very tough to finish. All three title-fights on the Finishers: Heatwave card should deliver entertainment for the fans and it’ll be great to see who ends up holding the silverware.
