Two of the top prospects in MMA right now, Muhammad Mokaev and Raul Rosas Jr, are about to battle it out in the main event of ADXC 6 on October 25th, 2024. The two men have agreed to compete against one another on just 7 day’s notice, after the previous main event match between Umar Nurmagomedov and Eduardo ‘Dudu’ Dantas fell through. Although the match has come together on incredibly short notice, both men are phenomenal athletes and are no doubt ready to compete at a moment’s notice. It’s an interesting match for the fans too, and the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship have done a fantastic job to pull this out of the bag.
Both Mokaev and Rosas Jr are UFC veterans and they have both been highly-touted talents by anyone in the know. Mokaev went 6-0 (1) on the regional MMA circuit before getting signed to the UFC, while Rosas Jr went 5-0 before becoming the youngest fighter to earn a contact after winning his sixth fight on Dana White’s Contender Series. Mokaev has since improved his record to 13-0 (1) and has left the UFC to be a free agent, while Rosas Jr has not had quite as much success. Rosas Jr is now 10-1 and still working his way up the UFC bantamweight rankings, one weight class higher than Mokaev at flyweight.
It’s sure to be an interesting match and it won’t be the usual battle between MMA fighters, as both these men are known for having fantastic grappling. Wrestling is Mokaev’s strongest area and he’s even competed in quite a few BJJ tournaments in the past, although some of these outings have ended in controversy. Rosas Jr on the other hand has competed at an even higher level in BJJ and actually earned some impressive results. In fact, he first came to the attention of the combat sports world when he beat two adult black belts as a 16 year old.
