Mike Perry has just revealed that an MMA fight with Dillon Danis might be on the cards soon, as he’s been offered the fight already. According to Perry the fight might actually be taking place later this month, so neither man will have very long to prepare for it. This isn’t the first time that the idea of a fight between them has been floated around either, as Danis has actually called out Perry before. That background is likely why promoters are looking to book a fight between them, and the reason it’s being done on short notice is because Perry would be stepping in to replace another fighter.
KSI pulled put of his boxing match with Danis just a few weeks ago, and apparently that’s why this fight has been proposed:
“KSI is out, yeah, Dillon Danis wants to fight MMA. I’m saying yes, but we have to see what Mams (Taylor) is coming up over there in Misfits. And they’re changing it completely because he was supposed to fight KSI in boxing… Looks like the date has changed a little bit but might not be too far away… So I said yes to fighting Dillon Danis in MMA, but they’ve got to come correct.”
Although the switch from preparing for a boxing match to preparing for an MMA fight would be a challenge, Danis has also been getting ready to fight Tony Ferguson this year too. Even if Danis is able to come in well-prepared, Perry seems very confident in his ability to win the fight:
“Maybe he doesn’t want to risk that fight, and it depends on if BKFC wants to risk anything. Danis is going to try and grab my foot, and I’m going to try and soccer kick him in the face… It would be in April… I’ll just stop them takedowns. He’s going to have to pull guard, and I’ve got some ground and pound, too. Let’s do it.”
