Midwest Finishers 22 took place on September 27th, 2025 and the promotion crowned two new champions. The women’s featherweight division delivered non-stop action and Maka Vickers was the early favorite, but she was beaten at the final hurdle. Vickers has a great run to the final but Camila Estrada was even more impressive on the opposite side of the bracket. Estrada got two submission wins in regulation time to book her place in the final, where she had her toughest match of the day. In the end she got the finish against Vickers with an armbar in EBI overtime to win the title.
The men’s light-heavyweight tournament was twice the size and there was a pretty big upset there too. Giuseppe Lamanna started his run off with two submissions before coming up against one of the best competitors in the world, Luccas Lira, in the semi-finals. Lamanna did more than hold his own, and he actually got the rear-naked choke in EBI overtime against Lira. Meanwhile, Ryan Aitken stormed through his side of the bracket with a series of submission wins against Trent Creech, Kyle Myers, and Brad Schneider. Lamanna made it into EBI overtime against a more experienced opponent once again but he couldn’t pull off another upset, as Aitken got the rear-naked choke to become the champion.
