Midwest Finishers 21 took place on March 8th, 2025 and the main attraction for the event was an excellent grand prix tournament at under 170 lbs. The final superfight of the night was definitely worth a mention too though, as Joseph Alexander notched up an incredibly quick armbar finish. Harrison Woods made it through one side of the bracket by getting a submission win in his first match, before taking out the promotion’s reigning champion Kevin Beuhring in a tough battle that went to EBI overtime. Another EBI overtime win against Jake Straus in the semi-final took him within just one match of the $2,500 grand prize.
The second half of the bracket was really all about one man, the early favorite Gavin Corbe. He started off like lightning with a quick ankle-lock finish in the first round and he was able to build on that in the quarter-final by hitting another ankle-lock early on there. That meant that Corbe came into the semi-final relatively fresh compared to everyone else and he maintained his perfect record of ankle-lock finishes to secure a place in the final opposite Woods. That proved to be his toughest match of the night but Woods couldn’t stop Corbe’s incredible run, and Corbe submitted him with a heel hook to win the title.
