Midwest Finishers 19 took place on July 27th, 2024 and there was a huge range of different submissions used throughout the night’s results. The promotion put together two excellent tournament brackets in the men’s under 185lbs division and the women’s under 125lbs division, and both went off without a hitch. The matchmakers clearly did a great job, as the variety of submission wins shows just how differently many of these competitors approached their matches. That also meant that there were some wild moments and unpredictable wins as the tournaments progressed, but in the end the two early favorites still emerged victorious.
Kevin Beuhring stormed into the final of the men’s under 185lbs tournament by submitting all three of his opponents in regulation time, while Nicholas Craton had two submissions and a gruelling EBI overtime win to meet him there. They went all the way to EBI overtime in the final but Beuhring eventually finished the rear-naked choke to secure the win. The women’s under 125lbs division was half the size but just as tough, as Emily Nicholson submitted her first opponent before beating top competitors Melanie Iverson and Martina Zola both in EBI overtime to win the title.
