Mahamed Aly has just taken the next step in his professional MMA career at Shogun Fights 29 on October 5th, 2024, as he has now improved his record to 3-0. Aly has been preparing for his transition to MMA for quite some time but after a ton of amateur fights fell through, he had to make the jump straight to the professional version of the sport at the beginning of the year. He made his debut at PCS: Bud Light Fight Night against a very experienced opponent and made a huge impact by knocking out him out inside the very first minute of the fight.
Aly didn’t stop there and it was just a matter of months before he took his second fight on the regional MMA circuit, against another more experienced opponent at Cagezilla FC 79. He managed to display his developing striking once again, as he registered another first-round knockout win and moved his record to 2-0. Aly took a short break from his MMA career in order to make a comeback in professional grappling then, competing in the inaugural Craig Jones Invitational. Aly lost in the opening round and immediately returned to MMA, as his third fight was booked for just 7 weeks later and his training camp had to begin.
This third fight at Shogun Fights 29 saw Mahamed Aly facing off against Cameron ‘Big Mac’ Graham, another fighter with a lengthy MMA record. Graham was coming into the fight at 7-17 and riding a two-fight losing streak, so Aly had much more momentum behind him. He was able to turn that momentum into a good result too, even if it did take him slightly longer than ever before. Graham actually took Aly into the second round for the first time in his MMA career but Aly still found the finish regardless. He landed plenty of devastating ground and pound but it was a powerful left hook to the body that dropped his opponent and ended the fight.
