Kairos Pro Jiu-Jitsu is returning once again but they’re making a pretty big change this time around, as Kairos 3 will feature a men’s division for the very first time. The promotion’s debut event focused exclusively on female competitors and it was a huge success, so they did something similar for their second. The tournament at Kairos 2 was contested in a new weight class but their top-billed superfight was their first men’s match. Now it seems like they’ve decided to run with that and Kairos 3 will be featuring a whole host of matches in a men’s under 66kg tournament on November 16th, 2025.
They’ve already announced the first competitor for that tournament too, and he’s also the only man with a winning record on Kairos already. Daniel De Groot won his superfight back at Kairos 2 and now he’ll be looking to use that experience to win the grand prize on his second appearance for the promotion. That’s another change that Kairos has made for this event, as they’ve increased the prize money to £2,500 and they’ve even confirmed that this increase will continue in to their fourth event. They’ve also confirmed that they will be returning to female divisions at that point, although it’s unclear if this will be in a new weight class or not.
For now the focus will be on releasing the rest of the competitors for the men’s under 66kg tournament, as there are still 9 spots unconfirmed. As is tradition with Kairos now, their grand prix is initially divided into 2 groups of 5 and they will compete in a round-robin format to determine the finalists who will compete for the title. The biggest unique factor at Kairos events is the constant switch between gi and no gi though, as the format for each match is determined by a coin-flip immediately before. This means that the winner must be at the top of their game in both gi and no gi throughout a gruelling day of 5 matches.
