Dan Reynolds is the lead singer of popular band Imagine Dragons and now he’s decided to spend his time training for a BJJ competition. The band first got together all the way back in 2008 and Reynolds has been the lead singer for them since the very beginning. Not only that, but Reynolds is also the only member of the band that has been involved since the start and remains involved today. After a few changes to band members in the first few years, the band settled into their current lineup and released their debut full-length album in 2012.
This was when they shot to fame with the hit single ‘Radioactive’ and they simply haven’t stopped since then. The band have released a total of 5 studio albums and each one has managed to peak somewhere inside the top 10 of the US charts, with their second album ‘Smoke + Mirrors’ reaching the number 1 spot. Outside of his work as the frontman for Imagine Dragons, Reynolds is also known for forming the Night Street Records label and for creating the LOVELOUD festival.
Alongside his work in different aspects of the music industry and as the lead singer for Imagine Dragons, Dan Reynolds has also found the time to start training BJJ at Renzo Gracie Los Angeles. He even recently represented the team in competition for the very first time, winning a bronze medal in the white belt division of a Jiu-Jitsu World League tournament. Reynolds competed at Master 2 and under 100kg, winning several matches and only losing one in order stand in the third spot on the podium. He’s now become one of many members of the music industry who are training regularly in the sport and it’ll be interesting to see if he continues down the path of competition.
