The IBJJF No Gi Pan Championship 2023 took place from September 29th to October 1st, 2023 and the results feature a number of elite grapplers. There was only one double champion once the weekend was over, as Roberta Ribeiro won gold in both the super-heavyweight and the absolute division. She didn’t heave it easy either, as she had to beat medium-heavyweight champion Elizabeth Mitrovic in the final. The men’s absolute division was won by Pedro Rocha and although that was the only medal he won on the day, he put on impressive performances in all of his matches.
There were plenty of ADCC veterans standing on top of the podium too, as Adam Wardzinski, Dante Leon, and Roosevelt Sousa won gold at in the three heaviest divisions . They weren’t alone either, as Oliver Taza won at middleweight and Adele Fornarino won the women’s featherweight division. Gianni Grippo won the men’s featherweight division and one of the best leglockers around, Edwin ‘Junny’ Ocasio, won light-featherweight. Rounding out the more notable men’s champions was Francisco Lo and Carlos Henrique at medium-heavyweight and lightweight respectively, while Jaine Fragoso and Deise Leonanjo took gold in the women’s lightweight and middleweight divisions.
