Jiu-Jitsu Con 2025 was a huge success for the IBJJF and the no gi edition of the main tournament was a big part of that. Taking place on August 29th and 30th, 2025, it attracted some serious talent. London Horn won the men’s absolute division, but he had to settle for a bronze medal in the heavyweight division behind Joao Nicolite. It was a similar story in the women’s divisions too, as Maria Ruffatto won the absolute there but Maria Vicentini beat her in the final at heavyweight. The women’s absolute had some seriously tough competition in it though, as lightweight champion Amanda Bruse took silver and middleweight champion Beatrice Jin won bronze.
They weren’t the only big names in the female brackets though, as Tammi Musumeci won gold at featherweight. Aislinn O’Connell and Mariana Rolszt also won their respective divisions at medium-heavyweight and roosterweight. There were a couple of other standouts in the men’s divisions too, with top UK competitor Thomas Bracher winning the super-heavyweight division and Wallisson Oliveira winning gold at medium-heavyweight. Undoubtedly the most popular accomplished man standing on top of the podium was Gianni Grippo though, as the multiple-time IBJJF no gi world champion beat out some tough opposition in the lightweight bracket.
