The 2023 edition of the IBJJF Brazilian National Championship will now be streamed live on FloGrappling. The top tier of IBJJF tournament has always been available to stream on FloGrappling, with both the gi and no gi edition of the IBJJF world championship being hosted on the platform every year for quite some time. There is however another tier of competition just underneath that, with a handful of major tournaments being contested across each continent every year as well. With this development, it means that the Brazilian Nationals (commonly referred to as the Brasileiro) will join the other major IBJJF events that make up the second tier of competition like the Pan Championship and European Championship, both of which are already regularly available to watch on the platform.
Now that all four (in either gi or no gi, eight in total) major IBJJF tournaments are available to watch on FloGrappling, it means that fans can follow the action all year round and ensure that they’re keeping up to date with any developments in the competitive BJJ scene. Collectively, winning these four tournaments in a single year is known as the IBJJF ‘Grand Slam’ (with the IBJJF Asian Championship sometimes included) and it’s a feat that very few athletes have ever managed. Now fans can watch any future competitors achieve this feat over the course of a year all in the same place.
The 2023 IBJJF Brazilian National Championship will take place in Barueri, São Paulo, Brazil from April 29th through to May 7th, with all of the relevant belt, gender, and age divisions being contested over that time. JitsMagazine will be on hand to deliver a preview of the event shortly before it takes place, and a list of the full results and comprehensive review of the event once it has finished.
The news that the IBJJF Brazilian National Championship will be streamed on FloGrappling for the first time starting in 2023 was announced in a post to both the IBJJF and FloGrappling’s official Instagram account:
