Helena Crevar has been one of the top prospects in the Jiu-Jitsu world for many years now and has recently become established as an elite competitor, even signing with ONE Championship at just 18 years old. She’s already travelled around the world and won titles in many of the biggest promotions in the sport; but she now has her eye on one of the ONE Championship belts. She’s yet to make her first appearance for the promotion as she’s been very busy competing on other major events in 2025, but she’s currently preparing for her debut match against Teshya Alo at ONE Fight Night 39.
Crevar explained in a recent interview with ONE Championship that signing a contract with them didn’t come out of nowhere, as she has actually been a fan of theirs for quite some time:
“I’ve been watching ONE for a few years now, and I watched my teammates Garry [Tonon] and Giancarlo [Bodoni] compete on it as well… I really like the show. I think it’s the best one out there because it has different sports like MMA, submission grappling, Muay Thai, and things like that, and it’s a super big crowd, and the venue and everything looks amazing. So, when I got the opportunity I was really excited to take it.”
Kingsway Jiu-Jitsu as a team have so far been unable to capture any silverware at ONE, but Crevar is obviously aiming to change that. She believes that the ruleset actually suits her style though:
“ONE’s rule set is a straight 10-minute round and submission only, so that is my favorite rule set. It has been since I started competing in no gi. I really love it because it forces both of us to go for it in the match. There are no points or penalties. We both have to try to submit each other.”
Although she’s still a few weeks away from her first match, Crevar already has her sights set beyond that:
“I definitely want to compete pretty often and maybe in the future go for a title, either at 145 or 155 [pounds], and really solidify a name for myself there.”
