BJJ Stars 17 is scheduled for September 20th, 2025 and the promotion has put together an excellent lineup for their featherweight grand prix, along with some great superfights too. The match with the highest billing is a heavyweight clash between Fellipe Andrew and Leonardo Ferreira, but there’s also a fun match between veterans Piter Frank and Gaius Gregory right before it. There’s another pair of top heavyweights meeting as Nolan Stuart travels to Brazil to face Rider Zuchi, while Jessica Dantas faces Giovanah Oliveira in the only women’s match. Rounding out the superfights are a pair of lighter matchups, with Rerisson Gabriel vs Diego Sodre and Jose Victor vs Maycon Gabriel taking place early on the card.

The featherweight grand prix is where the most is on the line though, as the winner takes home 100,000 Brazilian Real. Most of the field is Brazilian too, with Gabriel Sousa and Meyram Maquine representing the best chances of one of them winning the title. Although he might not as many accomplishments as Sousa and Maquine, Ruan Alvarenga is also going to be a top contender in the bracket. Julio Arantes is going to be one to watch as well, as he had to earn his way here by winning a qualifier tournament against some very tough competitors earlier in the year.

Rounding out the Brazilian contingent is the qualifier tournament finalist Kleber Barboza, who was also the last man added to the event after the initial 8th man had to withdraw due to injury. Top Argentinian grappler Lucas Canto will be making the trip to compete too, and the final two competitors are flying in from the US. They’re both going to be favorites to win the title too, particularly Josh Cisneros, who has already hit the podium at the highest level at ADCC 2024. The other American competing at BJJ Stars 17 is Ethan Crelinsten, who has been a permanent fixture on many of the biggest stages in the sport for several years now.
