The Professional Grappling Federation has now announced the final lineup of four coaches for PGF Season 6 on April 21st to 26th, 2024. The promotion has been producing memorable moments and high-level grappling highlights for quite some time now, but their latest season will see a massive improvement. The first hint of this came earlier in the year when they announced that they would be offering a total of $100,000 in prize money for the season. This meant that they had immediately become one of the best opportunities in the world for professional grapplers to make money, as there are only a handful of promotions offering even 10% of that in prize money.
Then an exclusive streaming deal was signed with UFC Fight Pass, and PGF had earned exposure on the biggest combat sports platform on the planet. That only improved the opportunity that was available to the grapplers who might enter and naturally, the final roster of competitors was stacked with some of the best in the world. Now the lineup of coaches who will be taking responsibility for the competitors during the season has been finalized too, after going through a few changes since the initial announcement earlier in the year.
In fact, the only BJJ legend who has remained as a coach since the season was first announced is Roger Gracie. One of the earliest changes happened when Jeff Glover was replaced with Rigan Machado, and Machado has now been joined by one of his brothers as well. Originally Eddie Bravo was supposed to be a coach but as several 10th Planet competitors will be in the lineup, he would likely have to coach against them. He decided to remove himself as a result and was replaced by his coach, Jean Jacques Machado. The final coach is American Jiu-Jitsu legend Dean Lister, who replaced Andre Galvao after he unfortunately suffered an injury in training.
