Fight 2 Win 182 was every bit as exciting as the lineup implied it would be, including the headline match between two ADCC veterans, Dante Leon and Davi Ramos. Just prior to that, Gianni Grippo and Jackson Nagai both put in great shows as they defeated Samir Chartre and Edwin Najmi respectively. The action in the main event started quickly though, as Leon shot for a takedown early on and switched to an Imanari roll when his initial shot failed. He ended up on the bottom and was forced to defend several of Ramos’ passing attempts before getting the brief chance of attacking a leg, but Ramos spun out of danger.
He returned to passing but Leon started to attack his shoulder from the bottom, forcing him to create distance and start working his passing from scratch. Ramos wasn’t able to secure a pass and Leon wasn’t able to get anything going from the bottom for quite some time, although they eventually worked back to their feet. Leon pulled guard and the pair resumed their battle from earlier in the match, only for the action to be paused after Ramos suffered an accidental eye-poke. They were reset to standing and Leon hit the same takedown he looked for at the beginning of the match, although Ramos didn’t stay on his back for long and managed to reverse the position.
Leon opened his guard for a moment and Ramos leapt through it to try and dive on a kneebar as the match was only seconds away from finishing. Acting on pure instinct, Leon defended the attack and scrambled to his opponent’s back to quickly secure a body-triangle. From there, Leon sunk in a rear-naked choke as fast as he could and although Ramos struggled to defend, he forced the tap with just a single second left on the clock.
