The epic rematch between Ffion Davies and Adele Fornarino has been rebooked for UFC Fight Pass Invitational 11 on May 29th, 2025. It’s one of the biggest matches in the sport right now, pitting two of the best competitors of their generation against one another. Fans have been calling for this match for a little while now and UFC Fight Pass Invitational announced at the beginning of the year that it would serve as the first female main event. Although the match was originally due to take place earlier this month at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 10, disaster struck right at the very last minute.
Davies suffered a shoulder injury in training that forced her to withdraw from the match and with just two weeks left before the event, no replacement was found for her either. The card was reshuffled and fortunately for both women, they are still able to make history as the promotion’s first female main event. The UFC haven’t announced yet exactly what matches that will be taking place shortly they meet on the mats again, but they have confirmed a few competitors. Mikey Musumeci and Mason Fowler are probably the biggest names due to compete at the event, but it will also feature top contender William Tackett and promotional veteran Raquel Canuto.
It’ll be tough to find a matchup that could rival Davies vs Fornarino 2 in terms of the intrigue around it though of course, as their rivalry dates back to ADCC 2022. Davies submitted Fornarino in the opening round along the way to winning a gold medal in the under 60kg division, but she submitted BJJ legend Mackenzie Dern at CJI 1 instead of trying to defend her title. Fornarino was in action on that same weekend and she dominated the under 55kg division at ADCC 2024, before also running through the absolute division to become the first female double champion in almost two decades.
