Fabricio Andrey just enjoyed a successful promotional debut against Ashley Williams, as he won a decision against him at ONE Fight Night 30 on April 4th, 2025. It was actually the first ONE Championship appearance for both men and although Williams didn’t get his hand raised, he gave an excellent account of himself. Most people would have picked Andrey as the winner when the match first got announced, but Williams had him in trouble at several points. Both men brought the action immediately but Andrey used his Judo skills to get the upper hand early on, hitting footsweeps to put Williams on his back.
Andrey then spent the rest of the match showing off his passing game, mixing up his attempts and keeping Williams on the back foot quite a lot. Williams had his own moments of success too, as he was looking to attack Andrey’s legs from the bottom. He managed to get into the legs more than once and even started working toward ankle-locks and aoki locks, but he couldn’t get them deep enough to be awarded a catch. The match came to an end and neither man had scored under ONE’s rules, so the decision went to Andrey based on his takedowns and positional control.
