Fabricio Andrey will now be returning for the second match of his ONE Championship career, as he will take on Eduardo Granzotto at ONE Fight Night 36 on October 3rd, 2025. The match will be contested in the bantamweight division and there’s never been a champion there, so this is a huge opportunity for both Andrey and Granzotto. Either one of them would make a big statement if they come away with a win and because there’s a vacant belt at the top of the division, nobody on a winning streak is ever going to be that far away from a title-shot.
Andrey is already 1-0 at ONE Championship after he won a hard-fought decision over Ashley Williams at ONE Fight Night 30 earlier this year. If he manages to leave this match against Granzotto with his perfect record intact, he’ll have the best record in the division and will surely be in line for a shot at the belt in his next appearance. Granzotto is making his promotional debut, but Andrey is one of the top competitors in the world at this weight and a win over him would do wonders for Granzotto’s career trajectory. Even one win at ONE Championship might be enough to secure him a match for the vacant belt if he can beat someone like Andrey in convincing fashion.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Fabricio Andrey has faced Eduardo Granzotto either, although it is the first no gi match that they’ve had. The only other match they’ve had against one another was back at the IBJJF World Championship earlier this year, and Granzotto won on points. The match could easily play out differently if it was replayed, but the change in both format and ruleset make that a certainty. Granzotto has generally specialised in gi whereas Andrey has excelled in both, and Andrey’s aggressive style will really shine under the ONE scoring system.
