The 2023-2024 season of the AJP Tour is underway and competitors all around the world have another chance to fight for their place in the ranking for the year. With big cash prizes and plenty of prestige on the line, the most eager competitors have already started planning the season’s trips and the points they’ll be aiming to accrue on their way to the top. The best in each division can also receive a travel package from AJP to compete in the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (ADWPJJC), giving them the opportunity to increase their points haul even further before the season ends.

So if you’re planning on being the top-ranked competitor in your division, we’ve set aside a quick guide with important details to help you plan your route to the top of the ranking. Check it out below!

In this 2023-2024 season, scores began to be computed on November 18th, and each tournament will be counted until November 2024, month that ends the season with the ADWPJJC 2024, the biggest event in the calendar that yields the largest amount points for competitors. In addition to the ADWPJJC score, the global ranking analyzes the top results of each athlete in one of the Continentals and seven of the main AJP tournaments (Grand Slams, Continentals, Nationals, Regionals, and Internationals). This means that each competitor’s seven best performances throughout the year will be taken into account, alongside Continental and ADWPJJC scores, and this will in turn be used to define who leads each weight, age, and belt division. It’s also worth noting that if an athlete fights in multiple Continentals in the same season, the best result is the one that counts, and that gi and no gi events be counted as separate for the purpose of rankings, and as such will not be combined

The best competitors from each country, according to the AJP Tour Continental Ranking in the Men’s Professional Black Belt, Men’s Professional Brown Belt, Women’s Professional Brown and Black Belt, and Men’s Master 1 Black Belt divisions, will be awarded with a travel package from AJP to compete in the ADWPJJC at the end of the 2023-2024 season. These packages will be made available according to the number defined for each Continental Ranking (Asia/Middle East, North/Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Oceania).

So don’t waste any more time and start planning your journey to the top of the AJP rankings today. Compete in your local tournaments to start gathering points and then head to the most popular tournaments, such as Nationals, Continentals, and Grand Slams. To know how many points will be issued in each competition, check out their Ranking Definitions or go to AJPTour.com/Events to find out your next challenge!
