Enigma Invitational 17: Massachusetts took place on July 13th, 2024 and the promotion continued their tour around the country after the success of their last event in Atlanta and their first trip to Nashville. The event featured a series of exciting superfights alongside two grand prix tournaments, each with $1,000 on the line for the winner. The main event superfight in particular was a big matchup, as it saw the reigning welterweight champion Max Hanson put his title on the line once again. Hanson won his match against tough veteran Shawn Melanson, beating him 2-0 on points to retain his title in impressive fashion.
Although that was the final match of the night, there was plenty of entertainment throughout the card and most of the matches ended in submission. A large part of that was down two competitors in particular, who had fantastic runs through their respective tournament brackets. Top B-Team Jiu-Jitsu prospect Ally Wolski submitted all three of her opponents to win the women’s bantamweight tournament, while rising star Davis Asare did the same while representing New Wave Jiu-Jitsu in the welterweight bracket. They both walked away with $1,000 and no doubt they’ll be getting even bigger matches at Enigma Invitational events in the future.
