There’s a new promotion in town in the UK, as the Enheist Invitational is currently putting the finishing touches on their debut event. It will take place on August 16th, 2025 in Newcastle, England and it will feature both superfights and tournaments on the same card. The Jiu-Jitsu scene in the UK has been growing steadily over the past decade or two but the last few years have seen an incredible jump in popularity for the sport. Not only is the UK home to the biggest professional grappling promotion in Europe, Polaris, but it’s also experiencing the rise of several new promotions as well.
The first ever Enheist Invitational event is also going to crown the promotion’s first champion as well, as the inaugural under 80kg title is on the line in the main event. 10th Planet London black belt Jack Tyley is one half of the pairing and he’s been making some waves on the UK circuit lately, including a successful appearance at Polaris 30 last year. Opposite Tyley is another veteran competitor, Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Newcastle brown belt Jason Bailey. Although Tyley might be the favorite on paper, Bailey is a skilled grappler in his own right and he’ll have the home-field advantage as well.
There’s several other superfights booked too, including a female Juvenile under 55kg title-fight between Olympus BJJ orange belt Ava Piddington and Origin BJJ blue belt Megan McCrossan. There will undoubtedly be plenty of highlights happening there but the main attraction before the headline title-fight is a pair of tournaments for blue, purple, and brown belt competitors combined. The two brackets are being contested at under and over 80kg and each one will feature 8 promising contenders who are currently rising through the ranks. The mixed belt divisions will allow for a ton of upsets and there’s no telling who’s going to finish the day with a perfect 3-0 record and the £500 prizes.
