In a surprising turn of events, eight of the top competitors training out of Dream Art have just left the team to join Fratres Jiu-Jitsu instead. It’s among the biggest team changes in recent memory, as normally only one or two athletes might leave at the same time. The only thing coming anywhere close to this in recent months is when three elite competitors left Fight Sports around the same time, although they all left for different reasons and to different teams. That incident was more of a coincidence and the three athletes in question just happened to time their moves at roughly the same time.

In this case however, all eight competitors who have just left Dream Art have done so together and have gone to join Fratres Jiu-Jitsu specifically. There is one factor that’s worth taking into account though, and that’s the fact that half of this exodus actually belong to the same family. Erich Munis, Anderson Munis, and Alex Munis have already established themselves as top competitors and the three brothers are moving teams together, along with their younger brother Dione Munis. The Munis brothers have always been close and have trained together throughout their entire careers, so it makes sense that they would change teams as a group in order to stay together.

Even not including them, Dream Art has still lost four other top unrelated competitors too. Yara Soares is among the best female grapplers on the planet in the heaviest weightclass and she made history as the first woman to submit Gabi Garcia back in 2021. She isn’t the only female competitor who’ve left either, as one of the top brown belt prospects Giovanna Jara is switching to Fratres Jiu-Jitsu as well. The final two competitors who have made the change in teams actually represent the very best in the sport at opposite ends of the weight spectrum as Meyram Maquine and Yatan Bueno are joining their teammates in the move.

Fratres Jiu-Jitsu announced the news that eight of the top competitors training out of Dream Art had left to join them in a post to their official Instagram account:
