EBI 24: The Bantamweights took place on July 27th, 2025 and the theme for the event was Mexico vs the rest of the world. The Mexican grapplers did themselves very proud as well, going 5-3 in the opening round before they started coming up against each other. That was very impressive given how solid the lineup was for EBI 24, but the eventual winner came from elsewhere instead. One finalist kicked things off very early indeed, as Isaac Cordova hit a triangle choke to finish the first match of the night and followed it up with an almost identical setup for another triangle choke in the quarter-finals.
Cordova hit a nice head and arm choke variation in his third match, making his way to the final with a perfect record of submission finishes. Yuki Takahashi had a very tough road to meet him in the final though, as he earned a pair of wins in EBI overtime after a heel hook win in his first match. The final was a very tough battle and Cordova spent the a huge chunk of the regulation time on Takahashi’s back working for a choke. Takahashi did escape and they went into overtime shortly after, where neither man could find the finish again. Takahashi had very quick escapes though and he was able to get the win on ride-time, becoming the new EBI bantamweight champion.
